The Mazzella Partnership Names Jason Hurwitz Vice President, Welcomes Preston Floyd as Project Manager

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Growth continues as the project management firm strengthens operations and positions for new market opportunities

Charlotte, NC. – September 9, 2025 – The Mazzella Partnership, a leader in golf course construction and renovation project management, announced today the promotion of Jason Hurwitz to Vice President and the addition of Preston Floyd as Project Manager. Today’s announcement marks a significant step forward in the company’s growth trajectory and reflects its commitment to delivering world-class service to golf facilities nationwide.

“These moves are both a reflection of where we are as a company and where we’re headed,” said Nick Mazzella, Principal and Founder. “Jason’s promotion to Vice President recognizes the tremendous value he’s brought to our clients and to our organization in a short period of time. Bringing Preston onto our team adds another layer of strength and depth. Both Jason and Preston come from clubs known for developing the very best talent in our industry, and we’re proud to have them carrying that tradition forward here at The Mazzella Partnership.”

Hurwitz, who joined Mazzella in 2023 as a Senior Project Manager, brings extensive background at some of the country’s most iconic golf venues including Oakmont Country Club, where he served as Assistant Superintendent, and Fox Chapel Golf Club, where he served as Head Superintendent for 17 years. His expertise in agronomy, construction, and client relations has been instrumental in elevating Mazzella’s on-site leadership and project execution.

“After more than 25 years leading golf course maintenance operations, the past two years have been incredibly rewarding as I’ve transitioned into consulting with clubs in my role as Senior Project Manager at The Mazzella Partnership,” said Hurwitz, who continued, “I’m excited to continue working alongside Nick to grow our business model and to partner with clubs on their facility improvements in this new, expanded role as Vice President. I’m deeply grateful for the relationships I’ve built and energized by the opportunity to help shape the future of our company and the clubs we serve.”

Preston Floyd joins the firm from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., long time host of the PGA TOUR’s Truist Championship (formerly Wells Fargo) and most recently the 2025 PGA Championship. His background in private club administration and operations further strengthens Mazzella’s ability to manage procurement, permitting, budgeting, and project schedules – critical functions that enable the firm’s senior leadership to focus on expanding client relationships and driving growth.

“As we look ahead, we’re focused on bringing our expertise to new markets while continuing to deliver for the clients who trust us with their most important golf course construction and renovation projects,” Mazzella added. “Strengthening our team with Jason and Preston is a big step towards making that possible.”

Since opening in 2018, The Mazzella Partnership has collaborated successfully with nearly 100 clients in 14 states on projects valued at more than $100M. The firm’s growth into new markets is a direct result of its experienced leadership, proven processes, and commitment to excellence.
